Odem Mountain Winery was founded by Michael and Idit Alfasi. The winery is situated at high elevation in the heart of Odem Forest. It is the most northerly winery in Israel. This wine reflects winemaker Adam Alfasi's bond and deep understanding of the vineyard, and the desire to make his wine an expression of the unique terroir. Alfasi Special Reserve is prestige blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grown in the finest plots. The wine was made with great attention to detail, and aged for 36 months in small French oak barrels. Only the best barrels were allocated for the final blend. It will benefit from cellaring and will continue to improve over a number of years. The Alfasi Special Edition has a deep crimson violet color, aromas of dark ripe berries, earth and some chocolate and flavors of blackberry and dark chocolate. The wine presents a full body with rich astringency leading to a long finish.
